Pique also stated: "If (coach) Koeman tells me tomorrow that I have to leave, I will leave football... I will not play for any team other than Barcelona."

He also said: "I will retire at Barcelona, ​​but not as a substitute."

The Catalan newspaper stated that all these phrases, uttered by Pique in recent years when he was a key player in Barcelona, ​​​​but now he is not living his best moments, in light of his permanent presence on the bench.

She pointed out that the contract with Andreas Christensen and Jules Conde, in addition to the presence of the young duo, Eric Garcia and Ronald Araujo, led to the marginalization of Pique within the team.

Nevertheless, the veteran defender earns the highest salary in Barcelona and La Liga, ahead of Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong.
